Babywearing Safety

For carrying safety always refer to the TICKS Safe Babywearing Guidelines included in your hire pack.

Always be aware and responsive to your baby’s needs for safety and comfort.

In both warm and cold weather, remember:

  • one layer of sling is equivalent to one layer of clothing;
  • cover / protect head, feet, legs and hands;
  • choose comfortable, light clothing, preferably made from natural fibres;
  • carry baby as close to you as possible, with as few layers between you as possible.

Care

Please care for the carrier or sling as if it were your own.
 
Spot cleaning is preferred. Do not wash the sling. Some slings and carriers have special care instructions whilst others will fade with frequent washing. We clean all slings regularly and know how to deal with the usual marks. If you feel it is necessary that the sling is cleaned while on loan to you please follow this advice:
 
– use a non-bio eco liquid laundry detergent;
– do not use softener;
– wash at 30C low spin, no tumble.
